We are so lucky.

It is on days like today that we truly realise how lucky we are to live in the wonderful place that is Kilcoole. We really are nestled between the mountains and the sea.
We are so lucky.

The village has been buzzing with classes out and about enjoying history trails, the playground and the path to the beach.

Fifth Class made two trips to the beach today. En route we spotted many wildflowers and birds. We were joined by a bird watcher who was on the lookout and hoped to record the reed warbler's song.

We spotted vetch, fumitory, stitchwort, red valerian, speedwell, foxgloves, aquilegia and fuschia. We caught an all too brief glimpse of a wren or two although we heard them long before we could see them. We also spotted stunning terracotta bullfinches and goldfinches.

On the beach we looked for flint, quartz and fossils.
