Boys and girls in 5th and 6th class took part in a Gaelic football lunchtime league during the month of June. Teams involved were Wicklow, Dublin, Donegal, Kerry, Galway, Mayo, Derry and Monaghan. Dublin and Donegal progressed to the first semi-final, while Mayo and Derry contested the second semi-final. After 2 closely contested matches Donegal faced Mayo in the final. Lots of the classes in the school came to watch an enthralling encounter between two well matched teams. The skills on show were top notch and the game was played in an atmosphere of sportsmanship. At the final whistle Mayo were victorious on a scoreline of 4-07 to 3-03 and claimed the coveted title of winners of the KPS Lunchtime League for 2023. The members of the winning Mayo team included: D. Doyle, C. Gallery Martinez, B. Stapleton, R. Wilson, R. O’Reilly, G. Davies, D. Guy, I. McLeod, A. Vines Franey and J. Eager.
