There was huge excitement in KPS on the 14th of June when All-Ireland winners from the Wicklow County hurling teams came to visit with the Nicky Rackard Cup and the Celtic Challenge trophy. 6th class held the KPS hurlógs high to welcome the special visitors, classes proudly displayed their Wicklow artwork, while ‘We are the Champions’ was blasted from the speakers. Ms. McDonagh thanked the players for visiting and congratulated them on their success. She encouraged all the boys and girls in KPS to keep practising their skills so that someday they might represent their county. The players spoke to the boys and girls and signed lots of autographs. Special mention must go to past pupils Luke, Finian, Mick, Willie and Killian, hopefully your visit will inspire the next generation to bring more cups back to the Garden County. “Success breeds success!”
